It’s late. I should get to bed – I have a busy day tomorrow. But something is bothering me, and I can’t ignore it.
Here’s what’s on my mind: A people group in China. They’re called the Hui. It’s pronounced like “Way.” That little coincidence about the way you say their name seems so important.
Because the Hui are searching for “the Way.”
As in the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus.

And the reason I’m still awake and writing to you is this: We aren’t sending missionaries fast enough to keep up with the opening doors!
It’s like Jesus said: “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38).

The Hui people are surprising. The biggest surprise is that they are Muslim. Yet open-minded and willing to to connect. Despite that, there are almost no Christians among them. (The best estimate is that 0.01% are Christian. That’s one in 10,000.) Most of them have never heard the Gospel message. It’s not because they are resistant. It’s because there’s nobody among them to tell them the Good News!
I’d send a whole crew of on-fire missionaries to work among the Hui today, if I could. But we just don’t have the resources. And that’s just one of hundreds of opportunities staring us in the face right now.
