David and Debbie Frank
David was born in PA, lived and was raised in Germany and IL in a missionary/pastor home. After returning from Vietnam, he was involved in the Navigator ministry in CA for several years. He graduated from CIU (formerly Columbia Bible College) in SC and served in numerous camp and conference centers over the years. Debbie was born and raised in Peru, SA in a missionary home, completed high school in NC and graduated from USC in SC with a nursing degree, after completing 2 years at CIU.
They met in SC, were married on January 1976, and moved to MI to serve full time at Spring Hill Camps. While there, God touched their hearts to serve Him in Spain, a country with much less than 1% evangelical Christians. July 1978, 41 years ago, David and Debbie, along with their 4-mo. old son, Jeremy, arrived in Spain as career missionaries. Their two daughters, Tafie and Tami were later born there. They served in evangelism/church planting in NE Spain and then founded the L’Arcada camp and retreat ministry that began in 1991. David directed the ministry until 2009, and then he and Debbie continued to serve at the camp, carrying out various responsibilities until May 2019. Their children have also been involved at the camp. Jeremy and Silvia with Shania and Wyatt were full-time, Christian and Tafie, with work and ministry in NC, have directed English camp almost every summer and Tami, with work and ministry in NC, has served in several camps over the years. She has 2 girls, Alanna and Kiara.
After almost 30 years in one ministry, God is leading David and Debbie to continue with the same focus, but to enlarge the vision to other camps as well. Their hearts remain in Spain and the need continues to be significant. While more Spaniards have a personal relationship with God today, they still number less than 1%. God has chosen to use David and Debbie along with Jeremy, Silvia, Shania, and Wyatt to begin a ministry of serving, equipping and encouraging Christian camp leaders across Spain for the growth of His church in this spiritually needy country. As God provides, new members will join the team as well. The ministry involves motivating progressive growth of the body of Christ in Spain through discipleship, connecting camp and church leaders, facilitating resources and learning opportunities, helping leaders focus their vision and direction, and actively encouraging them in their service for the Lord.
It is a privilege for David and Debbie to have the opportunity to continue to be involved in what God is doing in Spain today and to be part of what He will do in the future. Throughout history, Christian camps have had a unique and vital part in the growth of the church around the world. As God guides, develops and blesses this ministry, their prayer is that He will multiply disciples and servant leaders throughout Spain to serve Him faithfully wherever He leads them, impacting lives so that His body grows and matures to become more like Christ, bringing Him honor and glory.
