God called our hearts to Spain in 1976 because of the desperate need for the Gospel there. Only two-tenths of one percent of the population were evangelical believers. He stirred our hearts, and we arrived in Spain in 1978. When we got there, we found a population that, for the first time in 2,000 years, had the legal freedom to believe whatever they wanted. Many had come to a place of rejecting anything that sounded like organized religion.

Reaching Spain Through Camping Ministry

Through many years of experience, we found that the best way to reach Spanish people is through creative and experiential Christian camping founded on God’s Word. We began with one camp, L’Arcada, in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, and God greatly blessed His work there. We have seen Him touch and change many lives through the camping ministry at L’Arcada, all for His glory through the Gospel message.

Current Areas of Ministry

1. Evangelical Church “Calle Rutlla” (Girona Province)
I, along with another brother, serve as a pastor of this church, which God is growing for His glory and purposes. Over the years, we have seen the Lord grow this body of believers. Recently, we celebrated the church’s 50th anniversary—a testimony to God’s mercy and grace. All glory to Him.

2. NEXT-TO Ministry (Spain and Portugal)
NEXT-TO is a ministry serving camps across Spain and Portugal. Our mission is to serve, encourage, and equip Christian camp and church leaders for the growth of the local church across Spain.

The heart of the NEXT-TO team is to promote creative evangelistic and discipleship programming to reach towns and cities surrounding Christian camps. Since many who do not know Christ will not enter an evangelical church, we call the camp “the bridge between the street and the church.” There is tremendous potential in what God is doing through these camps.

3. Christian Camping International – Spain and Portugal
We also serve with Christian Camping International in Spain and Portugal, encouraging leaders and staff across the Iberian Peninsula.

The Ongoing Need

There is still much to be done. Thousands of cities and towns across Spain still do not have a single evangelical believer. We invite you to become part of our team as we continue pursuing God’s purposes in Spain.
