Tara Dunkle

Hello, I’m Tara Dunkle. In my senior year of college, the Lord placed Cambodia on my heart and called me to surrender my plans for my life to Him. In 2017, I took a short summer trip to Cambodia and knew the Lord was calling me back for a longer time of service. I served at an international school in Cambodia from 2023 to 2024. During that time, it became abundantly clear that Cambodia is where I am supposed to be until the Lord shows me otherwise.

I will be teaching English as a second language as a means to build relationships and share the gospel. Teaching English will be an easy way to integrate myself into the community by building relationships with my students and their families. I will be doing this through both formal and informal classes. I will be sharing with the lost about the Almighty God who gives salvation to anyone who calls on His name. I will also be partnering with the local churches to train and equip their members.

Most of the churches have an English school as a means for community outreach. I will be helping train those teachers to teach English more effectively and teach them how to incorporate the gospel into their lessons. I will also be helping churches improve their children’s Sunday school programs by helping the teachers gain confidence in what they are doing and by doing ministry alongside them.

Half of the country’s population is under the age of 25. When the gospel is shared and Christ is made Lord, everything will change.
