What an incredible privilege it was to host our very first S.E.E.K. Weekend at GOI's Home Office in Tupelo! The atmosphere was electric with excitement, reverence, and a shared hunger for deeper understanding. Sixteen attendees—both local and from out of state—gathered together for a weekend that was more than just an event. It was a sacred opportunity for the Spirit to work in the hearts of those eager to know more about international missions and how God can use each of us in His global work.
We were honored to create a space where people could come together, seek God’s will, and discover how to engage with His Kingdom mission in a deeper, more meaningful way. Whether you are just beginning to explore missions or already have years of experience, this weekend is designed to challenge, encourage, and equip you. The weekend was jam-packed with life-transforming moments and activities that were as meaningful as they were enjoyable:
- Worship: The weekend began with powerful worship, setting the tone for what would be an incredibly enriching experience.
- Prayer for Unreached People Groups (UPGs): We took time to pray for those who have yet to hear the Gospel. God’s heart for the nations is so evident, and praying for UPGs reminded us of the urgent need for laborers in the harvest field.
- Devotions & Interactive Groups: The weekend provided an intimate setting for diving deep into God’s Word, where we could learn how His heart for missions is woven throughout Scripture.
- Learning About GOI’s Mission and Vision: Attendees were able to hear firsthand about GOI’s global impact and discover how our vision is aligned with God’s call to reach the world.
- Exploring GOI’s Departments and Opportunities: We offered practical insights into the inner workings of GOI, from our various departments to the onboarding processes and exciting opportunities to get involved.
- Building Relationships: Attendees had the chance to meet new friends, encourage one another, and share personal stories of how God is moving in their lives.
- Meals, Chai Time, and Giveaways: We shared meals and took time to enjoy each other’s company over chai, plus, there were fun giveaways that added a special touch to the weekend!
Missions can often feel overwhelming, especially when you aren’t sure where or how to start. That’s why S.E.E.K. Weekend exists: to create a space for you to SEE, EXPERIENCE, EXPLORE, and KNOW how God is inviting you to be part of His global mission. Whether you’re unsure of what God is calling you to do or if you’re already on the path toward serving in missions, this weekend will help you discover how you can contribute to the Kingdom right where you are.
God is a global God, and He loves when His people come together in prayer and action for the advancement of His Kingdom. It’s His heart to see more laborers sent into the harvest field, and we believe that each person who attends S.E.E.K. Weekend will leave with a clearer sense of how they are called to engage in missions—whether locally, internationally, or through prayer and support.
