Jessy Jami
Jessy Jami has been serving at Hacienda El Refugio (HER) in Calacalí, Ecuador, since February 2015. Her role includes mentoring Spanish-speaking inmates and low-income families in the local community, providing support in family counseling. Additionally, she is part of the leadership team at HER. Previously, Jessy was a member of the leadership team at Vida Joven Ecuador for three years, co-founding this ministry in the town where she was born, "Shell," in Pastaza, Ecuador.
When she started serving at Hacienda El Refugio, Jessy felt God's calling to acquire more tools that would allow her to serve more effectively. It was then that she decided to take steps of faith and obedience by taking courses in Christian family counseling and mentoring. Subsequently, she specialized with a Master's in Counseling for adolescents and families at Lee University in Tennessee. Throughout these years, she has been involved in various programs offered at HER and has been primarily responsible for training volunteer counselors for summer camps.
By establishing friendships with campers and volunteers, she has motivated many of them to be part of the internships at Hacienda El Refugio, whose mission is to facilitate a deeper relationship with Jesus.
It is incredible to witness how God works in each life that has gone through the different programs at Hacienda El Refugio. The testimonies of these stories inspire others to know the Jesus we preach about. There is a great opportunity to sponsor this ministry; for every $25, you will be supporting one counseling session per week, and for every $125, you will be supporting one family per week.
Jessy has stood out not only for her commitment to serving the Lord but also for her dedication to training others. She is a living testimony of the positive impact that faith and counseling can have on people, enabling them to be healed and transformed by Jesus Christ and His Word. This transformation allows them to become a light in their own families and communities.
