John and Emily Darnell

John and Emily joined the home office staff in 2016 after having served in Babahoyo and Calacalí, Ecuador, from 2012-2016.

John is the CEO of Global Outreach International, a position he assumed in June 2019. His heart is to see the nations reached with the Good News of Jesus.

Emily serves as Director of Missionary Kids. The theme for the missionary kids department is "Rooted" as Emily desires for all missionary kids to know who they are in Christ no matter where they are planted in the world.

John and Emily married in 2009 and taught for two years in the North Panola School District in Mississippi. The joined Global Outreach in 2011 and left for Costa Rica in early 2012. After language school in Costa Rica, they spent one year in Babahoyo, Ecuador, ministering to families and training pastors. Then, they served in Calacalí, Ecuador, for three years at Hacienda El Refugio, a training and retreat center that facilitates a deeper relationships with Jesus Christ through nature and outdoor adventure. John was the Director of Ministry Programs, and Emily worked with interns.

Their oldest daughter Samantha was born in July of 2011 in Mississippi. She moved abroad at the age of 5 months! Juliette came along in April 2014 and was born in Quito. She is a dual citizen of Ecuador and the United States of America.
