Marah Williams
Hello! My name is Marah and I get the privilege to live and serve in Athens, Greece! I have been there since November 2023 serving alongside the fellowship of local Greek evangelical churches. Through this partnership I have been able to serve in refugee relief and community outreach projects with local believers and ministries. I have seen Ukrainian refugee children come to know Jesus, and seen God move amongst Greeks in spite of the shadow cast by the Greek Orthodox Church.
I am excited to see what God continues to do here through two community centers where I will be serving each week! One will serve refugees and target meeting the needs of these families while also building relationships with the kids through some English classes and fun activities. The other is focused on bridging the gap between the community of Greek Orthodox and the Evangelical Church, I will be helping with the day to day operations and outreach efforts at this center.
Over all other things, the goal is to meet these people where they are, whether they are affluent middle-class Greeks trapped in traditional religion or they are refugees from across the world seeking peace and safety. Our greatest prayer is to see these people come to know that true hope and joy come from Jesus alone! For every nation, tribe and tongue to come together in unity and worship our God in Athens!
Will you help me and the local brothers and sister in my church in Athens, Greece, reach these people in our communities?
"And he said to all, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.'" Luke 9:23
