Megan Mowdy

Since the age of 15, I have traveled back and forth to various overseas mission fields on short-term trips. When I stepped off the plane in the Dominican Republic for the first time, I knew that God had finally put a name on the calling He had placed on my life at a young age. God has placed in me a deep passion to carry hope to the hopeless.

Evolving Ministry

Through the years (since March 2017), my ministry has slowly transformed. What began as school ministry and writing a children’s ministry resource turned into training a worship team in the church, then into local women’s ministry, which ultimately led to women’s ministry on a much wider scale, serving three regions that cover about a third of the country. I also helped a local pastor strengthen the already established church and raise up a sister church in a nearby community. A constant thread throughout all of this ministry has been to focus on living everyday life with the people around me, building intentional relationships, and demonstrating the abundant life that Christ gives to believers.

While I continue to serve in many of those capacities to some extent, my ministry has continued to evolve over the past year and a half. It has been so exciting to begin forming a ministry for young women in an age group that I’ve always been eager to invest in. “Saetas” (translated, “arrows”) is now my primary focus as I work alongside ministry partners here in the Dominican Republic to train these young ladies, ages 15–25, teaching them their identity in Christ so that they can find freedom and victory as they are launched into their divinely assigned target.
