Hughes Youth Center-The Haven

Our work in Exuma continues to grow! We have partnered with a local church in Mt. Thompson, Exuma to develop a safe home called "The Haven". The home will provide many physical and spiritual needs for children and families across our island. All appropriate permits have been secured, our building plans have been developed and are fully paid for, and we have been gifted with acreage to construct a 3,000 square foot home that will provide a Christ-centered environment for 6 females and 4 males. The home will also provide accommodations for the live in matron provided by the church overseers of Mt. Hermon Union Baptist Church in Exuma.

We have recognized our unique and biblically mandated responsibility to care and advocate for those whose voices cannot be heard. It has become an even greater burden on our hearts in response to the devastation of hurricane Dorian. This will be an extremely important resource for our community here in Exuma and it would be an absolute honor to have you partner with us in seeing the Haven become a reality.
