Sanyu Therapy Network
Sanyu Therapy Network is our project that sends PT/OT/SLT and Dysphagia/Feeding services out into the rural communities of Uganda. We go to families who cannot afford to travel to us within town, working in partnership to empower them to better care for their children with disabilities. Some of our services include:
- Assessments and ongoing therapy
- Distribution of adaptive equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, standing frames, CP chairs, splints/braces)
- Caregiver trainings with topics including various diagnoses (CP, autism, etc.), the value of each of the therapies, destigmatization for the families, and finding value in their children that are made in the image of God
- Dysphagia Clinic, working with local medical clinics to manage malnutrition resulting from muscular/neurological deficits
We use primarily Ugandan therapists and promote continued professional development within each of their fields. In addition, we provide private therapy to some patient populations (e.g. autism, adult stroke rehabilitation, adult voice/fluency). We have outgrown our existing space, but our partner ministry (Ekisa Ministries) has purchased land and is in the process of building their new facility. We are planning to shift with them in 2025 but need to raise the funds to build our new office and therapy center. Would you consider partnering with us in this journey? Any surplus funding would be used to purchase equipment/supplies and/or pay for transport out into the communities. If you have any questions about the ministry or the project, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
Thank you so much for your interest in our families!
