Trauma Healing Ethiopia

TRAUMA. You're likely familiar with the term. It has become a common word in Ethiopia, especially as war and its deeds tumble across the country. However, trauma is not new for Ethiopia. It is the ordinary, everyday experience of many who wake to the exploits of life-threatening poverty.
Trauma is a wound of the heart caused by fear, helplessness & horror.
A place where trauma thrives is a place where the Gospel can be medicine to wounded hearts. But how?
The church is called to be salt and light to the world around it. To be bright and welcoming there are contextual steps any church must take. In Ethiopia a church who wants to enter the darkness of trauma with the light of the gospel must be safe. It must be a place where fear, helplessness, and horror can be safely exposed and carefully addressed.
This is where the Trauma Healing Project comes in. We come alongside churches with an intentional, Gospel-centered and mental-health-aligned means to remove the stigma of trauma and open up pathways to healing and further to the ultimate healing of the Gospel.
