Daniel and his wife, Sarah, along with their children, Timothy, Tabitha, and Jonathan live in Atenas, Costa Rica, serving with Global Outreach. Daniel and Sarah moved to Costa Rica in 2008 with the desire to strengthen the Latin American church, which is playing an exciting and increasing role in global missions. The Puttcamps’ ministry focuses on forming leaders in the Costa Rican church and supporting Global Outreach missionaries in Latin America.
Through their years of life and ministry in Costa Rica, Dan and Sarah have been encouraged by the passion of many church leaders who pastor their church full-time while also working other jobs to support their families. As a result, many have never been able to receive any formal biblical education and their situation prevents them from pursuing an expensive seminary degree. That is why Daniel started the SOLAE Bible Center (https://5solae.teachable.com). It seeks to take accessible Biblical education to those who hunger to discover new depths of God’s Word while allowing them to continue shepherding their flock and providing for their family.
Through their years of ministry and challenges on the mission field, Dan and Sarah have also witnessed the great need for missionary care. Loneliness, discouragement, burnout and team conflict often lead to well-trained missionaries leaving the field. With a desire to help support other missionaries, Sarah and Daniel serve on Global Outreach’s missionary care team as the Regional Care Coordinators for Latin America. Sarah’s passion for Biblical counseling and for equipping and encouraging other women has prepared her well for this role, and God has allowed her to minister to numerous women in our community and throughout Latin America.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us, so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
Psalm 67:1-2
